Bathroom lights
Firstly when looking for bathroom lights there are a number of considerations apart from the style you wish to use. There are Regulations on what lights can be used in different parts of the bathroom known as zones and lights should be IP rated for use within these zones.
We all know that water and electricity is a deadly combination. What is IP zoning for bathrooms? Read more on our blog: Bathroom IP zoning
Since we usually start and end the day in the bathroom in front of a mirror, great lighting around the mirror is just as important as a ceiling light. Placing the lamp above the mirror or vertically to the side will not allow light to cast a shadow on your face during make-up, shaving or brushing your teeth. The light in the shower room should be both functional and relaxing. If your shower enclosure has a fixed shower head, you should avoid installing recessed luminaires directly above it. The light is not good because the shower head covers a large part of the light.
With three-stage dimmable LED light sources, you can easily change the light at different levels and temperatures, depending on the desired light and atmosphere. When you visit the bathroom at night, you don't want the bathroom lighting to wake you up too much.
Creating good bathroom lighting can make a big difference in how you feel and look in your bathroom. It can also enhance the style and functionality of your space. Here are some tips on how to create good bathroom lighting:
- Use different types of lighting for different purposes. Task lighting is the light by which you can best see yourself, such as sconces or vanity lights near the mirror. Accent lighting is the light that adds drama and contrast to your space, such as spotlights or uplights that highlight certain features or areas. Decorative lighting is the light that adds style and personality to your space, such as pendant lights or chandeliers that complement your decor. Sparkle lighting is the light that creates a sense of magic and glamour in your space, such as crystal lights or candles that reflect and shimmer.
- Choose the right fixtures and bulbs for your space. Depending on the size, shape, and style of your bathroom, you may need different kinds of fixtures and bulbs to create the best lighting effect, you should avoid adding a light above the mirror, as this can cast shadows and make you look older. Instead, you should use sconces or vanity lights on either side of the mirror to provide even and flattering illumination. You should also choose bulbs that have a color temperature and brightness that suit your preference and mood. For example, warm white bulbs (2700K to 3000K) can create a cozy and inviting feel, while cool white bulbs (3500K to 4100K) can create a crisp and modern look.
